Christ the King was established as a parish on October 24, 1937, when Bishop Thomas J. Toolen laid the cornerstone for the church building. The parish school, Christ the King Catholic School, opened in 1949 under the leadership of Father Denis Gray, pastor, with the assistance of the Sisters of Loretto. The school serves over 500 students in grades PreK3-8 today.
Christ the King Parish is a Catholic family - a sign of Christ's presence in the Eastern Shore Community. Guided by the Holy Spirit and faithful leadership, we work to celebrate faith through meaningful liturgies, through the spiritual formation of our members, and by developing the strengths and talents of all through education and social ministries.
