My name is Sarah Collins, and I am so humbled to be Christ the King’s new Junior High Youth Minister! I grew up in Birmingham and was an active parishioner at St. Peter the Apostle in Hoover, assisting with religious education classes, reading at morning Masses, and falling in love with Jesus through my youth group. In college, I majored in Middle Childhood and Adolescent Development at Auburn University, and I graduated in 2009 with a long-term goal of working in youth oriented non-profits or ministries.
Currently, I am in my seventh year of serving at St. Michael’s high school youth group, and while guiding souls to encounter Christ is the main mission, the additional mission of authentic relationships has blessed me tenfold! I have experience teaching catechesis classes, building and leading retreats, and mentoring middle and high school youth through all kinds of life situations. I also serve on the leadership team for Biking for Babies, a non-profit dedicated to financially and spiritually supporting pregnancy resource centers through long-distance bike rides.
My personal consecration through Mary and dedication to the pro-life movement renews me daily and calls me to serve as a vessel and to strive for sainthood. I am excited to see what the CTK family has been offering the community, and I feel truly blessed to be a part of your mission. Please pray for my transition and for all of the youth at Christ the King.
