Burse Sunday

ACCW PriestsBurse Club was founded by Archbishop Toolen in 1953. Its purpose was to establish permanent scholarships for the education of men for the priesthood from the Archdiocese of Mobile. We collect funds throughout the year (especially on BURSE Sunday, which is September 9th) and present these funds to the Archbishop at the Annual ACCW Convention in the fall. These monies are then invested and used for the education of our seminarians.

In 1953, the dues were set at $12 annually and have not been raised in 65 years. Membership is open to everyone! There are no meetings to attend; no committees to serve on; just your prayers for vocations and your financial support.
